Guided Meditations for Young Yogis
We’re never too young or old to begin a meditation practice! Meditation can help reduce stress and anxiety, improve cognitive function, lengthen attention span, and much more.
Whether you’re trying to start your day with a little bit of mindfulness, you’ve had a busy day and need a moment to relax, or you’re winding down for bedtime, these meditations are here to support you. They can be done snuggled up together, or they can be played in the background (on a long drive, while coloring, or in the shower, etc.)! Use them however you see fit, and trust that the benefits will slowly come.
Sending you calm and kind vibes,
Jasmine
PS: All three of these meditations are content appropriate for all ages! The difference is in the length and amount of detail. Those with shorten attention spans (we’ve ALL been there, even as adults!) will prefer the shorter meditations.
Grownups, remember I have an Insight Timer profile, where I will be posting longer, free meditations monthly 🤞 There’s only one available now, but I promise I’m workin’ on it! You can download the Insight Timer app for free, and find me by searching Jasmine Wilcox.
For the Youngest Yogis
This short and sweet guided visualization is perfect for ages 5 and under! Just help your little one get comfy cozy, and then press play.
For Young Yogis
This meditation is just a little bit longer and invites yogis to be a little more imaginative. You’ll also notice more quiet space this time! This can make for a really nice bedtime practice — just get comfy and press play.
For Older Yogis
It was really important to me to get a meditation for teens up this time, because I think they really, really need these practices right now. This one will guide you through some deep breaths, a body scan, and a short, guided visualization. At the beginning, I say that this practice will be about 5m, but it is actually about 9 (and now I’ve learned to time before I record 😅). Use as often as you like.
